Hospital screwup leaves needle in expectant woman – She’s then charged $25,000 for its removal

A woman went to Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix to give birth to her second child. After delivery, her doctor told her they lost a suture needle and needed to operate to have it removed. After the surgery, she was then charged over $25,000 for the hospital’s negligence.  More…

SWAT team throw stun grenade into baby’s crib during drug raid at wrong house

A family is in shock after an Atlanta SWAT team threw a stun grenade into their 19-month-old son’s crib during a midnight drug raid, leaving the baby in a medically induced coma with severe burns. ‘It landed in his playpen and exploded on his pillow right in his face,’ the distraught mother said. Broward judge arrested for DUI in courthouse parking lot

Circuit Judge Lynn Rosenthal was arrested Tuesday, accused of driving to work at the Broward County courthouse while under the influence of drugs, striking a patrol car and repeatedly hitting the gate of the judges’ parking lot with her BMW, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.  More…

Woman Graduates 75 Years After Paying $5 Fee

A Maine woman is finally celebrating her college graduation more than 75 years after she left school. Jessie White was supposed to graduate from Beal College in Bangor, Maine in 1939, but a $5 transcript fee kept her from receiving her degree. This week White, 99, was finally given her diploma in a special ceremony hosted by the president of Beal College, Alan Stehle.  More…

5 kids sat in getaway van during robbery

Five kids were left to wait in a van while their parents robbed a home in Woburn, Mass. Friday. The parents are facing several charges including larceny and child endangerment. Police say the parents took off when officers confronted them at that home, leading them on a brief chase that ended a few miles away.  More…

Man Sues Red Lobster, Waitress For $1 Million After N-Word Receipt Mess

Last September, a customer at a Tennessee Red Lobster found himself at the center of a firestorm. He was accused of not leaving a tip for his waitress, and adding insult to injury by supposedly including a racial slur. Windshield washer fluid linked to Legionnaires’ disease

Using your car’s windshield washer seems pretty harmless, but a new study says washer fluid might be the perfect home for the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease, a severe form of pneumonia. “We saw 83 percent of samples we collected had Legionella in them. Seventy-five percent had Legionella pneumophila, which causes about 95 percent of Legionnaires’ diseases cases in America.”  More…
