A Texas man drowned last week while mowing the grass on a property along a river, according to officials. Adam Gonzales, 58, was using a lawn mower to cut the grass on a property when he made “a pass too close to the river’s edge” and the lawnmower turned over, investigators said.  More…

Arizona man fatally shot after testing bulletproof vest

An Arizona man was fatally shot Monday after he donned a bulletproof vest and asked a friend to shoot him. Parker Lynch, 25, put on the vest and asked his friend Steven Watson to shoot at him. Watson fired one round at Lynch’s abdomen. It was unclear if the bullet pierced the vest or missed it. Lynch was taken to a hospital and died during surgery.  More…

John Coughlin, a two-time U.S. pairs champion recently suspended from figure skating, has died. He was 33. U.S. Figure Skating released a statement Saturday and cited his sister, Angela Laune. The sister said in a Facebook post that her “wonderful, strong, amazingly compassionate brother John Coughlin took his own life. … I have no words.”  More…

Penny Marshall, best known as TV’s "Laverne & Shirley" has died. She was 75. A publicist for Marshall told the New York Daily News the actress died "peacefully at her Hollywood Hills home" from complications due to diabetes on Monday.  More…
