Texas girl, 3, missing after she was sent outside at night as punishment

A 3-year-old girl in suburban Dallas is missing after her father said he punished her for not drinking her milk by telling her to stand outside by herself at night near an alley behind her home. Sonoma County officials opted not to send mass alert on deadly fire

As fires burned across the North Bay late Sunday, Sonoma County considered sending a mass alert to cell phones in the region to warn of the rapidly spreading flames. But county officials decided against it, worried that doing so might create widespread panic and hinder the ability of first responders to combat the blazes. As of Wednesday evening, 13 people were confirmed dead in the Sonoma County fires, and officials expected the total to rise.  More…

Mandalay Bay staffers didn’t call cops after security guard was shot

Hotel staffers at the Mandalay Bay did not call Las Vegas police until after Stephen Paddock started his mass shooting spree, according to phone records. An anonymous source who has reviewed the records told ABC’s “World News Tonight” that employees initially refused to alert authorities — even after security guard Jesus Campos took a bullet to the leg.  More…

Tom Cruise takes pride in performing his own stunts. But the daredevil was injured during a failed building jump stunt while filming Mission: Impossible 6 in London on Sunday. Spike in calls to poison control centers over dietary supplements

A study published in the Journal of Medical Toxicology finds that U.S. Poison Control Centers receive a call every 24 minutes, on average, regarding exposures to dietary supplements. Botanical ingredients were to blame in nearly a third of cases. Botanicals, which is often used as an aphrodisiac, can cause heart beat rhythm changes, kidney failure, seizures, heart attack, and death.  More…
