Academy Award-winning actress Tatum O’Neal posted an emotional message on Instagram acknowledging that she’s been the victim of sexual assault “more than once.” “I am a woman and I have been sexually assaulted more than once,” O’Neal, 54, wrote in the posting. “It was not my fault when I was 5, 6, 12, 13, 15 – all by older men who I thought were safe.”  More…

One of Elizabeth Smart’s abductors is getting out of prison next week — a decision that the kidnapping victim says is “incomprehensible.” Wanda Barzee, now 72, admitted to aiding her self-proclaimed-prophet husband Brian David Mitchell kidnap a then-14-year-old Smart at knifepoint from her bedroom in Salt Lake City in 2002.  More…

Woman mauled to death by pit bull she just adopted

A Maryland woman was mauled to death by a pit bull she’d adopted only two weeks before. Robin Conway, 64, gave the pup a home and “was in love with dog,” her sister, Susan LeClair, told WMAR-TV. “She is in love with animals,” LeClair said. “The dog, apparently, went after her.”  More…
