In a not-so-surprising move on the part of CNN/Netscape employees, they placed an image of President Bush and his wife Laura on their CNN.Netscape.CNN.com homepage (see middle image below), and named the photo image 'asshole.jpg.' The photo has since been renamed and by 9:30AM, asshole.jpg was removed from their server. This story first posted by Paul at WizBangBlog.com.

AND, in yet another example of un-biased CNN reporting found by Free Republic comes in the form of a second photo removed from CNN/Netscape's server at 11:07AM this morning: Moron.jpg.

In Response, CNN announced this afternoon the following:![]()
Netscape responsible for Bush photo insult![]()
"A Web image and text disparaging President and Mrs. Bush currently circulating on the Internet was not created, disseminated or posted by CNN at any time, as is alleged. It was done by an employee of Netscape and posted on Netscape.com. CNN had no knowledge of it until it surfaced on other Websites. CNN has requested an immediate apology from Netscape." ![]()
In their most recent statement, CNN said that "Disparaging image tags used to identify photos of President and Mrs. Bush currently circulating on the Internet were not created, disseminated or posted by CNN at any time, as is alleged. They were done by a junior-level employee of Netscape and posted on Netscape.com. CNN had no knowledge of this until it surfaced on other Web sites."![]()
"Netscape, which corrected the situation when it was discovered, has released a statement apologizing for the "inappropriate and disparaging terms" that were used in the image tags - and saying that the company has terminated the employee."

[Unfortunately, the CNN PR people forgot to look at the domain where the defamatory images were presented. It is CNN.Netscape.CNN.com (as is shown in the middle browser image above), meaning CNN is the controlling domain for the site. -Editor]
