Congressman removes painting approved by Lacy Clay that depicts police officers with pig heads

Saying he was exercising his First Amendment right, a California congressman on Friday removed from a congressional wall a controversial painting that had won an art contest sponsored by Rep. William Lacy Clay. A spokesman for Clay, D-St. Louis, said he was aware that the painting had been removed by Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., whose office is next to Clay’s.  More…
