Greenpeace activists get more than they bargained for in Russia
Greenpeace activists from the Arctic Sunrise attempted to scale an oil rig operated by the Russian energy company Gazprom. They were planning to protest against Gazprom’s plans to drill for oil in the Arctic Ocean. Russian security forces detained the activists and now Russian prosecutors have pressed charges against all 30 of the detainees, with each facing up to 15 years in prison. More…
