· Lakers Star Bryant, Wife Expecting Child. Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, are expecting the couple's second child in May, spokesman Rob Pelinka said Tuesday.
· Nike Using Kobe Bryant Again. Nike is using photos of Kobe Bryant for the first time since his arrest two years ago for an alleged assault on a female employee at a Colorado resort. "Nike agrees with most NBA observers that Kobe ranks among the very best players in the NBA," said Nike spokesman Rodney Knox.
· Reunion? Jackson to meet with Bryant. ESPN reported on Monday night that Jackson, who coached the Los Angeles Lakers from 1999-2004 and earned three championship rings, is scheduled to meet with Kobe Bryant in Los Angeles later this week. The meeting could be seen as a step to Jackson possibly returning to coach the Lakers.
· Kobe spends $50,000 to rite his wrongs. Kobe Bryant is still paying for his one-night stand. The L.A. Lakers star shelled out $50,000 this week for a recommitment ceremony with his wife, Vanessa.
· Bryant case witness stands behind accuser. A key witness in the failed sexual assault case against NBA star Kobe Bryant said in his first interview that he remains convinced Bryant’s accuser was telling the truth, and that the case should have gone to trial.
· Kobe Bryant Case Echoed In 'Law & Order' Episode. A famous basketball player accused of a felony; a wife standing by him while decked-out in jewelry; blaring headlines. It may sound like an all-too-familiar case from Colorado, but it's actually Friday night's episode of "Law and Order: Trial by Jury."
· Bryant accuser repays money. The woman who accused Kobe Bryant of rape has repaid $20,000 to Colorado's victim compensation fund, a week after reaching a settlement in her lawsuit against the NBA star.
· Kobe has chance to redeem his image. Ideally, if you are going to become entangled in an extramarital affair that leads to sexual assault charges, rat on a teammate’s secret liaisons to the cops, break up a championship caliber team and feud with the greatest power forward in history, you want to do it at an early age. It leaves more time for damage control.
· Update: Kobe Bryant, Accuser Agree to Settle Civil Lawsuit. Kobe Bryant and the woman who accused him of sexual assault have agreed in principle to settle the civil lawsuit she filed against the NBA star. Sources told ABC news that Bryant and his accuser have agreed to a settlement for emotional and other injuries she said she sustained in connection with the alleged rape. Sources say the parties are meeting this week to work out the details of the settlement, which could be signed by both parties by the end of the week.
· Bryant, accuser might have reached settlement. Attorneys in the sexual assault lawsuit against Kobe Bryant said Monday a long-awaited deposition by the NBA star was postponed, prompting speculation a settlement is in the works.
· Kobe Bryant to be questioned under oath Friday. Lawyers for the woman accusing Kobe Bryant of rape will get their first chance to question him under oath when they meet the basketball star Friday in Los Angeles.
· Bryant judge seals most court documents. A federal judge took unusual steps Wednesday to try to slow the pretrial publicity swirling around the civil lawsuit against Kobe Bryant. U.S. District Senior Judge Richard Matsch told lawyers that most information gathered by both sides would be sealed from the public until trial.
· Accuser's lawyers to seek Kobe's sexual history. Attorneys for the woman accusing Kobe Bryant of rape say they should be allowed to ask the Los Angeles Lakers star about his sexual history as part of her civil lawsuit, according to court documents prepared Thursday.
· Bryant says he would like to apologize to Shaq for comments made to police. During Kobe Bryant's interview with investigators, he said he heard O'Neal had paid up to $1 million to various women to keep quiet about situations like his own. O'Neal, who now plays for the Miami Heat, dismissed those allegations as "ridiculous." There have been no published reports of O'Neal ever being accused of any sex crimes.
